Dr. Oman performs most endodontic procedures here in the office. He has attended many continuing education courses on root canal therapy and his many years of experience allow him to perform most endodontic procedures in a comfortable and timely manner.
Occasionally, there may arise a situation where the client would be better served seeing an endodontist, a specialist in treating root canals, and a timely and proper referral will be made.
A common misconception is that a root canal is a painful procedure. Actually, root canals are similar to having a cavity filled, producing minimal pain. In most cases, any post-procedural discomfort is minor and short lasting. In some cases, there may be some tenderness for 48 hours at the most.
Common causes endodontic treatment:
- Inflamed/infected tooth pulp
- Severe sensitivity to hot and cold elements
- Tooth decay
- Chipped or broken tooth
- Blow to the tooth
- Swelling or tenderness near the infected tooth
- Repeated dental procedures on a tooth
Please contact our office for an evaluation if you experience any of the above symptoms.
